GLI is presently working with 35 of the 191 professional golfers on Jack NicklausÂ’s developmental Golden Bear Tour and its program has had a dramatic, positive impact on the performance of enrolled players. Through nine Golden Bear events, Golf Life players have captured four titles as well as had 12 Top 3 finishes, and 33 Top 10 finishes.

ARLINGTON, VA (PRWEB) August 6, 2004

As Jack NicklausÂ’s developmental Golden Bear Tour hit the half-way point in its 2004 Summer Series, new sponsorship partner Golf Life InstituteÂ’s (GLI) data have shown its Pro Player Program to have had a dramatic, positive impact on the performance of players enrolled in the program. Presently, 35 of the Golden Bear TourÂ’s 191 players are participating in the GLI program, a research-based approach to peak performance and wellness for golfers that includes nine mental and physical test areas leading to customized prescriptions for improvement. Through nine Golden Bear events, four Golf Life players have captured titles, including two wins by Del Ponchock, who began the GLI program in March 2004. In addition, Golf Life players have had 12 Top 3 finishes, and 33 Top 10 finishes.

The leading performer in the GLI Pro Player Program is Ponchock with two wins in just eight appearances. Ponchock, one of only two players with multiple wins, ranks second in 2004 earnings with $64,278. ItÂ’s a dramatic improvement for Ponchock who competed on the Golden Bear Tour (GBT) in 2003 and won one event. Four other GLI players are also in the Top 10 on the money list. They are: Hiroshi Matsuo (5th), Michael Adamson (6th), Steve Hart (7th) and Lee Stroever (9th). Overall, players in the GLI Pro Player Program have earned 30% of the TourÂ’s total prize money. (GLI players in the Top 25 are listed below.)

“After four years of research and assembling our clinical support team, we partnered with the Golden Bear Tour in June to prepare these guys for Q School,” said Dr. George Carlo, Golf Life Institute Chairman. “We are pleased to see that our programs are helping these pros perform at such a high level and avoid injury. We’ve also noticed that our GLI players have an extra hop in their step as they hit the midpoint of the grueling summer season. We expect more Tour players to become a part of the GLI team as the word spreads.”

The GLI Pro Player Program is specific for touring golf professionals on the PGA, Golden Bear and Futures tours. However, through the Secrets of Champions and Do What the Pros Do programs, peak performance prescriptions with these same secrets and techniques are available to all golfers at www. golflifeinstitute. com. (See Building Block Prescriptions).

The Golf Life Institute was founded in 2001 by Dr. George Carlo, Dr. Sean Woods and other health and golf professionals. The team used their medical, scientific and clinical research skills to evolve the Golf Life SystemTM, a comprehensive program for achieving better golf through better health and better health through golf as an incentive. Through their research, they created an integrated, customized peak performance pathway based on a comprehensive clinical evaluation of body conditioning, psychological and motivational profiles, nutrition patterns and golf skill level. The program was first made available to golfers during the fall of 2003 and has received universally positive reviews.

After the first nine Golden Bear Tour (GBT) Summer Series events, 35 of the 191 (18%) players are participating in the GLI Pro Player Program. Of these 35 GLI players (GLIP), the following statistics were found:

• On average 44% of the GLIP make the cut – Non-GLI Players (NGLIP) average is 37%

• GLIP earned 30% of the total prize money, averaging a total of $11,160. The NGLIP average is $5,093

• 77% of GLIP have made at least one cut, compared to 73% of NGLIP.

• GLIP rank 75 on average on the money order – NGLIP average ranking is 89

• GLIP have won 4 of the 9 events, had 12 Top 3 finishes, and 33 Top 10 finishes.

• 5 GLIP are in the Top 10 in money, 9 in the top 25, and 13 in the Top 50.

Based on these statistics, with GLIP accounting for only 18% of the total player pool, a GLIP was:

• 3.4 times more likely to finish an event in the Top 3 than a NGLIP

• 2.1 times more likely to finish in the Top 10 than a NGLIP

• 1.3 times more likely to make the Cut than a NGLIP

• 1.2 times more likely to make at least one Cut than a NGLIP

• 4.9 times more likely to rank in the Top 10 than a NGLIP

• 2.9 times more likely to rank in the Top 25 than a NGLIP
